Yue Hoshiko

Well, this is a character that I've been trying to get out onto paper for about a month now.

Her name is Yue Hoshiko (Name meaning Moon Star), and she is a priestess for the Moon Spirit, Twi.
She lives in the far northern arctic where she is the guard of the Moon.
Yue has spent the better part of her life alone, there was one time when she was not alone, she used to have a love...the priest of the water temple in the southern arctic temple that is dedicated to the water spirt, La. But, due to the nature of the spirits that they both guard, they could not be together. Twi and La push and pull at one another, like the moon on the water, sending the tied in and out. This push and pull effect keeps Yue always out of reach.
The spirits have taken on the forms of two Koi fish (Twi is white with a black spot and La is black with a white spot, so that when side by side swimming around they look like the yin-yang symbol), the one in this picture is Twi, the moon spirit.
I went with purples and blues for Yue cause of the cold north that she lives in, but also cause of the cold night sky feeling that the moon is always in.

For those that watch Avatar: The Last Airbender, you will have noticed by now that I've pulled this from the show. The show has been my inspiration for this, Yue and the Koi fish spirits being my main source. I'm looking for a counter part for Yue, if any one is interested in giving it a try, I will say that I would like for her counter part to be more along the lines of a canine since she is more feline, thus keeping with the opposites, yet also keeping a natural fit between the two.
